Dr. Nicole Avena is a research neuroscientist and expert in the fields of nutrition, diet and addiction. She received a Ph.D. in Psychology and Neuroscience from Princeton University and then completed her postdoctoral fellowship at The Rockefeller University in New York City. Dr. Avena presently is Assistant Professor of Neuroscience at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City and a Visiting Professor in Health Psychology at Princeton University.

Angelica Baraona, FNTP & RYT-200, has a background in bilingual-education and education management, having worked with children from 18-months to their adolescent years. Angelica’s passion for learning and teaching led to her becoming a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner & Registered Yoga Teacher. As a member of the Weston A. Price Foundation, Angelica believes in the healing wisdom of ancestral traditions and wants to empower others to find holistic well-being through their modern-day use. Jeanne Cygnus, IBCLC, PMH-C has been helping breastfeeding families since 1995. She currently owns and runs Cygnus Lactation Services, comprising lactation clinics in Mundelein and Skokie Illinois, as well as a corporate lactation program that covers corporate employees across the US including Guam and Puerto Rico. Jeanne is also certified in Perinatal Mental Health, and is actively working on programs to help identify and support both moms and dads who are suffering from a variety of perinatal mood disorders. Brianna Hairlson, also known as Bri, began dancing and choreographing at the age of 7. She went on to attend Howard University where she trained in Modern, Ballet, and West African dance. Currently, she is the Owner of Bri’s Dance Place, with classes for all ages at all stages. Classes include Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, and Hip Hop for ages 2-18 as well as pregnancy and new mom classes and senior chair fitness.
Even though she is quite busy being an entrepreneur, she makes time for her awesome husband, Paul. They were married on October 22, 2016, and they had their first child, Paul II on October 10, 2018. They love traveling together.Close

The founder of AP Chicago South, a 1600-strong online community dedicated to providing peer support for families who practice Attachment Parenting, Christine has been assisting parents through pregnancy, baby loss, postpartum adjustment, and early childhood for over 15 years. Eynav Accortt, PhD, is an assistant professor in the department of obstetrics and
gynecology and is a clinical psychologist at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles. Her research
focuses on mood and anxiety disorders during the female reproductive life course and
in response to chronic illness. She studies the physiological processes that are
associated with higher risk for depression and anxiety in pregnancy, postpartum,
perimenopause, and following diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer and heart
disease. She is also interested in the association between maternal mental health and
adverse pregnancy and birth outcomes. Dr. Accortt is a California licensed clinical
psychologist and also has a private practice in Agoura Hills, California called Perinatal
Mental Health Care.

Paige Bellenbaum, LMSW is one of the Founding Directors and the Chief External Relations Officer at The Motherhood Center. The Motherhood Center provides treatment and support to new an expecting mothers experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) otherwise known as postpartum depression. Paige began her commitment to screening, treatment and education on PMADs after she recovered from severe postpartum depression and anxiety after the birth of her son. She co-authored New York State Legislation on PMAD screening and education with State Senator Liz Krueger that was signed into law in 2014. Paige has over 20 year experience creating and overseeing programs for vulnerable populations including homeless families and formerly incarcerated young adults, and has been a fierce advocate for funding and programming aimed at improving the situations for these populations and more.Close
