MommyCon Portland 2019 will take place on June 29, 2019 at the Oregon Convention Center.

Join thousands of families who have attended MommyCon for a weekend of fun for new and expectant parents. We bridge education and learning with an interactive exhibitor hall, countless sessions and a hands-on approach to testing new products. You will meet leading experts who focus on subjects specific to parenting. Meet with one of our resident educators to try on baby carriers in-person. Learn about picky eating solutions with our feeding therapist, and learn how to get more sleep for the whole family with our sleep guru.

Our mission is to create a community of support, acceptance, and non-judgment for parents journeying through parenthood. We look forward to meeting you soon.

Who needs a ticket?

All adults need to buy a ticket. Children 16 and under are FREE, but require a Child Admission ticket. As an adult, select from one of the following options.

VIP Admission: VIP admission is the best of MommyCon. This ticket provides the ultimate MommyCon experience! This ticket includes two-day admission (Friday and Saturday) and will give you access to all sessions (including a very special VIP only session on Friday), event elements, and the exhibitor hall on Saturday. All VIP attendees will receive an upgraded VIP gift bag. Price: $150.00

Premium Admission – Baby: Premium admission includes single day admission and will give you access to sessions, event elements, and exhibitor hall. Premium admission attendees will receive a premium admission gift bag perfect for those who are expecting or with children up to 18 months of age. Price: $50.00.

Premium Admission – Toddler: Premium admission includes single day admission and will give you access to sessions, event elements, and exhibitor hall. Premium admission attendees will receive a premium admission gift bag perfect for those with children age 18 months or older. Price: $50.00.

General Admission: General admission includes single day admission and will give you access to that sessions, event elements, and exhibitor hall. This ticket does not include a gift bag. Price: $25.00

Child Admission: This ticket is for children 16 and under and helps us identify how many children will be attending the event. Price: FREE

Our room block will be at the Doubletree Portland (map). You can book your room online or by calling 503-281-6111 and ask to be registered under the MommyCon block.

Parking Information

Onsite parking is provided in the convention center’s underground garage. You may enter the garage through either the NE Lloyd Boulevard (P1) or NE First Avenue (P2) entrances. Clearance on the P1 Level is 7 feet; clearance on the P2 Level is 9 feet. We have a total of 800 spaces. More parking and transportation information is available here.

In this fun and interactive class, we’ll start by learning ways to engage core and pelvic floor with fun and easy reminders that stick in your brain (even when it feels like mush); to help you feel strong, injury free and stop the dreaded “sneeze-pee”. We’ll end with some games and exercises that help your kiddos with gross motor development and sensory/emotional regulation.

Daniele Strawmyre is a mother of two amazing kiddos and the founder and owner of Ready Set Grow, a Portland based company specializing in movement education, art & wellness for families. She teaches a variety of classes, from dance and yoga to classic Pilates mat, various circuit training and fitness for adults; and develops and teaches dance and theater programs for children, including those with sensory and learning differences at her studio in NE PDX and various locations around the country. Originally hailing from Philadelphia, PA, she was the director of the dance company, readySetGO, and performed locally, nationally, and internationally, in addition to teaching various forms of fitness and Somatics. She earned a degree in Dance and Choreography from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. As a professional choreographer, dancer and movement educator of over 25 years, with a focus on prenatal and postpartum health for the last 7 years, Daniele helps people to “increase their body intelligence” so they can feel confident and strong (and injury-free) while doing “all the things”!

Dr. Eynav E. Accortt
Eynav Accortt, PhD, is an assistant professor in the department of obstetrics and gynecology and is a clinical psychologist at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles. Her research focuses on mood and anxiety disorders during the female reproductive life course and in response to chronic illness. She studies the physiological processes that are associated with higher risk for depression and anxiety in pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, and following diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer and heart disease. She is also interested in the association between maternal mental health and adverse pregnancy and birth outcomes. Dr. Accortt is a California licensed clinical psychologist and also has a private practice in Agoura Hills, California called Perinatal Mental Health Care.

Angelina Spicer
Angelina Spicer is a comedian, actress, social media influencer, wife and mother. A cum laude graduate of Howard University, Spicer has smartly delved deep for comedy that’s authentic, transparent, and relatable. By using her social media platform, she became an outspoken advocate for maternal mental health after she was admitted into a psychiatric facility for treatment of postpartum depression (PPD). It was then that her journey to remove the stigma from the shame and guilt associated with PPD began. She became the 2018 Spokeswoman for The Blue Dot Project, has lobbied on Capitol Hill, helped pass three new pieces of legislation for new moms in California and been featured in USA Today & Essence magazine.

Whether you are cup or cloth curious you will find answers to your most TMI questions about what it’s really like to go green on your period. Kim will be giving a live demo of a menstrual cup insertion and removal using “Virginia,” a clear vagina-like tube. For cloth curious mamas she’ll go over the basics so you’ll be prepared to make the switch. There will be a Q+A at the end. Food Options

There are many restaurants nearby and a Starbucks on-site. Attendees are also welcome to bring their own food and snacks.

Registration

Show us your ticket on your phone, or as a print out, and we will get you your badge at registration. You can come and go as you please once you have your attendee badge. These badges have space on the front to write in your name and a little bit of info about yourself. We’ve found this is a great way to break the ice and meet other attendees.

Gift bags can be picked up at registration.

Who should attend

New and expectant parents and those that have toddlers. Our sessions focus on the first five years of a child’s life and advice for parents of every stage.

Stroller Policy

Strollers are welcome at the event. However, we will ask for strollers to be folded if crowding becomes an issue.
