Halloween is one of the most exciting days of the year in my house! My boys absolutely love decorating the house, dressing up, pumpkin picking/carving, and most importantly they love all of the goodies!
Every year I find myself coming up with new treats to make with the kids. Here are a few simple things we made this year.
Candy Strawberries! Yup! You heard that right! Have you ever eaten a candy apple and thought to yourself, “I wish there was more candy to apple ratio” or “I can’t finish this whole thing. I wish I had a smaller portion.” Or maybe you’re like me and you’re allergic to apples. Either way, candying a bunch of small strawberries makes the perfect treat. Especially for parties. You can just buy a candy apple kit at the supermarket or make a simple glaze with equal parts sugar, corn syrup, and water.
Next up, Creepy Cups! This is really simple. The boys enjoyed smashing some green cookies to a crumbly mess and sprinkling it over a cup of chocolate pudding. Stick in a gummy worm and top with some Noshi Food Paint for a gross finishing touch.
Another spooky snack that we created was a Monster Mouth. Apple slices, marshmallows, and more Noshi Food Paint to hold the marshmallow teeth in place. This snack was a huge hit with my 4 year old in particular.
The last treat we made was my personal favorite. I roasted a fresh sugar pumpkin and chose a pumpkin pie recipe that I liked and put my own spin on it. I used a sheet pan instead of the traditional pie tin, and topped the pie with some cool pie dough cutouts that we made by hand.
I hope you enjoy these ideas. If you try them, share photos to your social media and feel free to tag Woman’s Choice Perinatal Services. Also, to learn more about Noshi Food Paint you can follow them on IG @Noshiforkids.
