5 Family Friendly Activities in Orlando

MommyCon Orlando is just days away!  I’m so excited. As a local, it’s exciting to see parents who share common interests and passions travel here for this exciting event from lots of different states.  I’ve lived in Orlando since I was 3. Safe to say that I live where you vacation! Orlando is known for being a huge family vacation destination. There are so many family friendly activities to do.  Below are some of my favorites, as a local.

ICON Orlando 360

Of course, the main event here is the 400 foot observation wheel, however surrounding it is the Sea Life Aquarium, The Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, and the recently opened Orlando Starflyer.  Here you can also find delicious eats. You can find all types of cuisines, quick bites, and refreshing cocktails. They also have a couple of shops for some “casual shopping.

Disney Springs

Disney Springs, formerly known as Downtown Disney, is one of my favorite places to visit currently. There are so many restaurants to choose from. There’s a bowling alley, a movie theatre, and now lots of my favorite stores such as Zara, Sephora, Kate Spade, and Mac.  There’s also a splash pad for children to enjoy during a hot Florida Day. At night they have musicians and entertainment throughout Disney Springs.

Crayola Experience

Crayola Experience is geared more towards for the children but it can also be fun for the adults. This is where the magic of Crayola comes to life. There are 26 hands-on attractions. Children can star in their very own coloring page, name and wrap their very own crayon, go on a 4-D coloring adventure, learn how crayons are made in a live manufacturing show, and more.

Orlando Science Center

The Orlando Science Center has four floors of interactive science exhibits, experiments, play areas, and displays.  Everything is hands on and engaging. It is full of fun things to see, do, play, touch, and play with. They have a section for dinosaurs and even a section for weather including a wind tunnel.  It is impossible to see everything here in just one day. No matter the age, there is something here for everyone.

Orlando Farmers Market

A great family activity to do is walk through the Downtown Orlando Farmers Market.  Here you can find seasonal fresh produce, indoor and outdoor plants, artwork, handmade craft items, and so much more. It is also pet friendly.  This is the perfect place to enjoy a family afternoon.
