All events on this schedule for MommyCon Philadelphia take place at the Pennsylvania Convention Center (1101 Arch Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107). This is a preview schedule and exhibitor list. Additional sessions and exhibitors may be added and will be announced approximately 30 days before the event.

A session with Dad of 3, That Dad Mat will be answering questions from the perspective of a Dad/Non-gestational caregiver. Covering topics like birth, Babywearing, Cloth, and car seat safety, Mat will be there to answer care givers of all types product and parenting based questions while sharing his story.

Speaker: Tori Levine
Babies at the Barre™ is a mommy and me style exercise class designed for new caregivers and their babies. This mommy barre™ class will work your body from the inside out while you playfully interact and connect with your bundle of joy. Class is a mix of basic ballet and pilates exercises that focus on rebuilding strength in your core and pelvic floor. No prior dance or pilates experience is required and moms-to-be, new moms, and moms with older children will get a great workout!


4:00PM-4:45PM  ***VIP SESSION***  The Parenting Trifecta – Self-Care, Children, Partner with Christy and Geoff Malone presented by Smart Bottoms
Speaker: Christy and Geoff Malone
As parents, it’s easy to focus all of your time and energy on your children, leaving little left to invest in yourself or your relationship with your partner. Geoff and Christy Malone are going to discuss how they’ve worked through common parenting pitfalls to create a healthy lifestyle (physical, mental, emotional, and relational) for their family. Married for over 15 years and parents to two pre-teen daughters, Geoff and Christy will share their personal experiences, encourage attendees to recognize when to ask for help, and provide suggestions on how to take small steps towards things like self-care and improving your relationship with your partner.

We’ll end the session with an audience Q&A period. Find out if cloth diapering is right for your family.

In this session, parents will learn the reasons why toddlers fear new foods and solutions to overcome picky eating. In addition, Ms. Dawn will teach four common mistakes parents make that can cause food refusal and learn practical tips to help your child learn to try, eat and enjoy a variety of foods!

Babywearing 101 is a comprehensive overview of baby carrier safety and an assortment of carriers including the meh dai, soft structured carrier, woven wrap, stretch wrap, hybrid wrap, ring sling, wrap conversion, and custom carrier options.

10:00AM-11:00AM  Turning Red to Green – A Menstruation Workshop on Making the Switch to Reusables presented by DivaCup
Speaker: Kim Rosas
Check your skepticism at the door for this workshop on switching to reusable fem-care by self-proclaimed #vagangelist Kim Rosas. Whether you are cup or cloth curious you will find answers to your most TMI questions about what it’s really like to go green on your period. Kim will be giving a live demo of a menstrual cup insertion and removal using “Virginia,” a clear vagina-like tube. For cloth curious mamas she’ll go over the basics so you’ll be prepared to make the switch. There will be a Q+A at the end. Bring a good sense of humor plus an open mind and you may just become a #vagangelist too!


11:15AM-12:00PM  Nurturing the Development of your Baby’s Brain through Movement and Exploration
Speaker: Shannon Davis
As a mother and pediatric physical therapist, Shannon has learned a lot about the development of babies. This class provides an introduction to the development of a baby’s nerves, muscles and brain beginning in utero to age 3. Parents will understand and learn the importance of gross motor activities in the development of the early brain. We will also look at how much a baby needs to move each day to ensure optimal brain development.

11:15AM-12:00PM  The Wisdom of the Ancients: Nutrition for a Healthy Family Generation after Generation presented by Weston A. Price
Speaker: Maureen Diaz
Cutting through the dogma and experimentation of recent decades, the wisdom of traditional cultures shows us that certain foods and nutrients are indeed necessary to build strong bodies with healthy immune systems, generation after generation. Find out what nutrients are needed and steps can be taken to give you and your children the best shot at achieving optimal health, and learn why current philosophies and dogma pertaining to diet are misguided at best, and dangerous at worse.

11:15AM-12:00PM Loss Mama Sanctuary
Speaker: Ambyr Amen-Ra
This session is dedicated to helping mamas work through the many emotions that come with the loss of a baby at various stages of pregnancy and childbirth. We will talk about creating a safe spiritual space, wherever mom is, that allows her to feel, work through, and move past her feelings of deep grief. We’ll incorporate deep breathing and movement that will open up the energy centers and allow positive energy to flow. We’ll go over some mantras that mamas can say whenever they feel stressed and will encourage peace and hope. We will discuss pregnancy, birth and parenting after loss. The goal is to offer mamas a space to talk about their experiences and walk away with tools to help them through the anxiety that often comes post loss. There may be some tears – but by the end – there should also be joy.

11:15AM-12:00PM  Wrapping 101 presented by Moby and Tekhni Wovens
Speaker: Jess Mann and Alisa DeMarco
Jess and Alisa, both Certified Babywearing Educators, will show you wrapping basics starting with stretchy wraps and then graduating to woven wraps. In this introductory interactive session, participants are shown how to do a front carry. Wraps and baby dolls are provided for demo purposes for use during this session.

Ashanti Rivera is a Doula and Placenta Encapsulation Specialist in a mission to break the taboo that still revolves around placenta encapsulation. Come learn about the basics of the placenta and how moms are utilizing it as a part of their postpartum routine.

During this session, Dawn will show you practical mealtime solutions for infants + babies 4 months to 2 years. There will be time at the end of the session to ask Dawn any questions related to feeding, how to start Baby Led Weaning (BLW) and product recommendations.

Newborn wearing is an intro to styles of carriers that are appropriate for newborns; we will address safety, positioning, and what to look for in a carrier for your newborn. At the end of the class you will have the opportunity to try on carriers, get fit checks, and answer individual questions.

Romp n’ Roll is a kid’s gym which provides fun and educational gym, art and music classes for children 3 months through 6 years old. In addition to our classes, we also offer camps, kid’s night out, special events (in house and off site) and AMAZING birthday parties!
