Day 1 of MommyCon Chicago 2018 is done!
Attendees were most excited this year to mingle with local friends and a community of like-minded people. Allie Kibler said, “I like coming because there are people here who like what I like. I’m from a small town and lot of people don’t know about breastfeeding and baby wearing. People here have the same interests.”
A lot of new attendees heard about MommyCon through their Facebook communities. Ali Beatty found out about the convention through Grovia Families while Amber Fleming and Melinda Nelms saw it on their cloth diaper Facebook groups.
The sessions were also a big hit for parents and children alike. Ashlei Packer was delightfully surprised at how down to earth Jordan and Mat York were. “They are like real life! I can see my husband and I in them,” she said. Dad, Bryan Adam, also loved the session because him and his wife are natural parents who use cloth diapers, baby carriers and breastfeed. He says the dad sessions are always awesome.
The kids were able to get some wiggles out during Parent & Child Yoga. Tiffany Martinez says her daughters climbs on her all day, everyday. She started doing yoga a few months ago and thought “it was a cool opportunity to be able to do it with my kid instead of just on my own.”
After all the sessions were over, attendees headed over to the Exhibitor Hall for a fun Sip & Shop experience. VIP, Media and 3-Day General Admission ticket holders were treated to a special preview of some of the Exhibitors while sipping on wine, beer or mocktails, which were perfect for expecting mothers.
We have a two full days of MommyCon Chicago ahead with even more sessions, speakers and surprises!
