img_20161030_170336Hi all! I’m Mariposa and the only single mama of MommyCon’s Parent Squad. I have a 10 mo old. I have been a single mama since my first trimester and left due to domestic violence. I’m a disabled veteran, and I exclusively nurse my baby (no bottles here! Lol!). I cloth diaper and my baby has been going on the potty since 4 months and before sitting I used chux pads. I am a member of Babywearing International of the Bay Area and love to babywear and I’m currently learning to backcarry.  We do baby sign language and love to take baths together! I had a homebirth in the City by the Bay and I love living in San Francisco with my baby and visiting local playgroups. I’m a stay at home mama as well and about two months ago we came back from the front-lines at Standing Rock to stop 18 million Americans’ water source from being polluted.

What is your favorite movie? Smoke Signals.

What type of food brings you comfort? Noodles.

What is the best piece of advice you have received as a parent? Take only the advice that u want to.

image-1My name is Katie and I live in So-Cal with my dear hubby and 3 beautiful children: Brandon;13 years old, Kylee; 11 years old and Olivia; 9 months old.  I enjoy traveling with my family, especially to national parks such as Yosemite! It’s an annual family tradition. I also enjoy trying out new restaurants, crafting, hiking and exploring local museums/parks/aquariums/zoos. I help run a local Facebook mommy group and host sponsored play dates and events. I own my own company; Bella Boutique and make hair accessories for newborns through adult sizes. I also do social media marketing and blogging for baby & children’s companies. My favorite thing is to be with my family and enjoy a day out with them, making memories and sharing some laughs!

What is your favorite movie? Hmm… Good question! I can’t pick one as I love all types of movies! Halloween, Sweet Home Alabama , Pretty Women, The Notebook, and The Fast & The Furious!

What type of food brings you comfort? Fried chicken & mashed potatoes! Good old southern foods. Also dessert…because who doesn’t like dessert?! I could go for a berry creme Brulle right now …

What is the best piece of advice you have received as a parent? To be patient and enjoy every moment because it goes by so fast…and it really does! I swear I just had my son and last week he turned 13! Enjoy each day, soak in every moment and tell your children (and show them) each day how much you love them and how special they are.

mommyconphotoHi everyone! I’m Sophia, a Starbucks obsessed InstaBlogger to my 1.5 year old babe, Max. We spend WAY too much time (and money) at Target, which is also known as “The Mothership” in our home. I was born + raised in Illinois but moved to North Dakota for love when I was 19 years old. Now, four years later, my husband’s job has us relocating to Indianapolis and we couldn’t be any more excited to be back in the midwest raising our family. You may recognize me from being part of the Mom Squad last year, and I am thrilled to be working with MommyCon again for another amazing year!

What is your favorite movie? Sweet Home Alabama.

What type of food brings you comfort? Pizza, pasta… Pretty much just carbs. A lot of carbs.

What is the best piece of advice you have received as a parent? Never, ever give up breastfeeding on a bad day.
