Our Parent Squad is a carefully assembled group of parents who are passionate about sharing the story and images of their family with our community. The main goal is to bring the MommyCon community together by providing authentic opinions, real-life product reviews and giveaways via social media and blogging. If you missed our first three sets of introductions, you can find those posts here, here and here. We’ll continue introducing you to our members each Monday and Wednesday leading into the New Year. Enjoy!
My name is Amanda and I’m a mama of 3, living in Columbus, Ohio. I’m addicted to Starbucks, Target, and cloth diapers. I’m usually pretty close to pulling out my hair because of Aubrey, age 6, Baileigh, age 4, and Jackson, 12 months. Basically, I’m just navigating through motherhood the best as I can!
What is your favorite movie? Grease. It’s a classic!
What type of food brings you comfort? Pizza. I could eat pizza everyday and not get tired of it. Oh! Or mashed potatoes. You know, just bring me all the carbs….and wine.
What is the best piece of advice you have received as a parent? None of us *really* know what we’re doing. The days are long, but the years are short and we’ll honestly miss the craziness of today.
My name is Lindsay and I live in Calgary, Alberta with my two children. my husband, and sometimes foster kittens. I have a four-year-old son and a sixteen-month-old daughter. In a former life I was a high school French teacher, but now I like to teach parents about cloth diapering and choosing the best baby gear via my blog!
What is your favorite movie? Any of the Harry Potter movies.
What type of food brings you comfort? French fries.
What is the best piece of advice you have received as a parent? You do you.
What is your favorite movie? Big Fish by Tim Burton.
What type of food brings you comfort? Is all food an answer? 😉 I can never go wrong with sweets or a medium steak and warmed mashed potatoes.
What is the best piece of advice you have received as a parent? I’m a schedule driven mama when it comes to our cub, so the best piece of advice I ever received was “you can write it all down, you can time it all out, but at the end of the day the only way you can go is with the flow.” And to this day, it’s been the best advice I’ve ever heard.
What is your favorite movie? The films I like are mostly French 😉 And I love series better than movies!
What type of food brings you comfort? Cheese and dessert.
What is the best piece of advice you have received as a parent? Time flies, cherish every moment!
My name is Alice, I was born and raised in Southern California, I did a lot of my adult growing up in Phoenix, Arizona, but traded the big city life for the nature and beauty of Southeastern Idaho. My husband and I have been together for 11 years and during that time, we’ve grown a pretty big family of five children. Their ages are 9, 5, 3, 2 and 3 months. We have 3 daughters and 2 sons. For the last 5 years I operated a photography business. Just before the birth of our fifth baby, I realized that I enjoyed most of all, taking pictures of my own children and being home with them outweighed any benefits that a photography business could bring. Now, I write product reviews and teach parents how to take photos of their own children, at home in their everyday life.
What is your favorite movie? Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
What type of food brings you comfort? Anything healthy, I like trying new things and so far, going organic has been the most comforting.
What is the best piece of advice you have received as a parent? “Never go to sleep angry.” While this doesn’t always happen, it’s something that I strive for each day and has greatly strengthened my role as a wife and a parent.
