MommyCon O.C. is quickly approaching and I’m sure you will have some free time during your visit. Here is a list of a few of my favorite family friendly activities that are near the Hilton in Costa Mesa. MommyCon Orange County will be held at the Hilton Orange County 3050 Bristol St Costa Mesa, CA 92626 and there are so many great things to do around here, but here are a few of my favorites.
Let’s start off with my most favorite thing to do in the area, Disneyland and California Adventure! From where MommyCon is being held it’s only about a 16 minute drive, yeah! These two theme parks are my favorite.
Here are a couple tips if you’re heading to Disneyland and California Adventure: I highly suggest you purchase your tickets ahead of time to save yourself from waiting in an additional line while you are there. Tickets can be purchased off the Disneyland website. To save money you can bring in your own food, snacks and drinks as long as they can fit in your stroller/backpack and no glass bottles. Make sure you get fast passes to save time waiting in line! Photopass is awesome! The photographers are great and the photos you will get are fantastic! That photo below with Olaf is from a photo pass photographer.
While you are in the area you can hit up a MLB game! The Angels stadium is close by at only a 13 minute drive from MommyCon O.C.. You can purchase tickets for a game HERE.
During the weekend of MommyCon O.C. the Angels are playing the Yankees, so you know it will be a great series. Go early and watch batting practice and go explore the stadium. There’s always fun things to do at the stadium for kids before and during the game.
The Santa Ana Zoo is a cute little zoo only 14 minutes from MommyCon. I took my 13 year old brother here and he enjoyed it. It’s not huge but it still has a good amount of animals and your littles will have a great time!
Admission is as follows:
Adults (age 13+): $10.00
Seniors (age 60+): $7.00
Children (age 3-12):$7.00
Adults (age 13+): $12.00
Seniors (age 60+): $9.00
Children (age 3-12): $9.00
All admissions $2.00 off after 2:00 PM
The Zoo is open every day except Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day & New Years Day.
Daily: 10am – 4pm (grounds close 5pm)
The beach! There are a few fun beaches close by to take your family to but Newport is the closest. Pack up some food, snacks, water, sunscreen and your best sand castle making stuff and spend the day relaxing and soaking up some SoCal sun.
Adventure Playground is a hidden gem and is probably one of the most amazing playgrounds I have ever been to before. It’s more then just a playground, it’s a magical place where they supply your kids with the tools for them to be creative and use their imagination.
The address is: 1 Beech Tree Lane, Irvine, CA 92612 and their hours are from 10AM to Dusk.
Bring an extra pair of clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting muddy! For more photos check out my blog post of Adventure Playground HERE.
Also on my list is the Fountain Valley Skating Rink. Although I haven’t been here in years, this place is near and dear to my heart. My parents met here back in the day (this place has been around for a while) and in my younger years I was there all the time.
Their hours and prices vary per day so make sure to check out their website HERE for more info.
The Discovery Cube Science Center is another place that I went to a few times when I was younger. Just a few days ago I took my brother here and he has a great time! The “Cube” is only a 10 minute drive from MommyCon.
This science center is all hands on and a great educational place to bring your children. There is a lot of different exhibits here and your kids will have a blast running around and learning about the world around us. Even us adults had a great time learning new stuff!
Children (3-14) $12.95
Children (2 and under) FREE
You can purchase tickets HERE
Hopefully you get a chance to check out a few of these family friendly activities here in the Orange County area and enjoy them as much as my family and I do!
